HYPEBEAST ART BOOTH @ HYPEFEST 2018
In 2018, HYPEBEAST launched Hypefest, its inaugural festival celebrating contemporary culture through art, fashion, music, and more. The two-day event in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood featured a myriad of activities, workshops, and exclusive merchandise from iconic brands such as Off-White, Undercover, fragment design, Nike, and Adidas.
For the festival, I was tasked with curating a booth for HYPEBEAST ART (now rebranded as Hypeart) and commissioning artists for original artworks. I brought together graffiti legends Futura, André Saraiva (known as Andre), and Stash, along with designer Kevin Lyons, to create and showcase unique pieces for an audience of over 5,000 attendees.
Futura and Andre collaborated on a mural, blending Monsieur A. figures with Futura’s signature atom swirls across a multi-panel piece. This live painting session followed iconic graffiti artist Stash’s own creation, which hung next to the duo’s work. All three artists signed attendees' gear, resulting in custom T-shirts and personalized sketches. Meanwhile, Lyons hosted a kid-friendly drawing booth where parents and children could color in his signature fuzzy-faced avatars. Lyons also signed and doodled on items brought by guests, including the infamous Supreme New York Post cover.
