Patric Hanley Solo Exhibition at The Elizabeth Collective (2019)

In 2019, Brooklyn-based artist Patric Hanley took up a residency at The Elizabeth Collective nestled in New York City’s midtown district. A former artisan for Louis Vuitton, Hanley’s personal body of work is focused on creating gestural paintings executed with a vivid palette, abstract shapes, and dynamic motifs. Throughout the weeklong residency, the artist unveiled a range of wood-panel paintings made using oil, acrylic, and spray paint — his first time creating compositions with mixed materials.

The hosting establishment was a beaux-arts flair mansion made for the late iconic actress Elizabeth Taylor and designed by seminal architects Warren and Wetmore. To celebrate Hanley’s residency, The Elizabeth Collective teamed up with New York-based art collective roosi to launch a reception where guests are invited to view the artist’s process, paintings, and small works on paper displayed across the third floor of the historic townhouse.
